Portrait of A Graphic Designer
Freelance Graphic Designer Ursula McLaughlin needed fresh portrait photos for her profile pictures. I was very happy to oblige, particularly as Ursula is local to me. Coincidentally, we both moved to St Leonard's On Sea from exactly the same part of South London - she's just been here a little longer than me as evidenced by the amount of people she said hello to on our way down to the sea-front.
Ursula was great to photograph as she's very easy going. I wanted to capture her in a variety of locations local to us both. So we chose, her home where she often works from, St Leonard's Garden (which she tells me is home to Badgers that can be seen at night-time!) and the sea-front. The latter was a little too windy, for decent photos without Ursula's amazingly curly hair obstructing her face, so hopefully we'll revisit that spot another day.
Ursula's favourite photos was one of the pictures taken just next to St Leonard's Garden. Being a Graphic Designer, she's put a Half-tone effect over the top, which I think is a brilliant idea as it instantly says "design." It also makes it a collaboration, which I love.
Thank you Ursula for letting me photograph you for your profile picture!
