Welcome Reader!

Updated: May 9, 2019

Now that Gingko Photography has been established for a few weeks, I thought it would be a good time to welcome you officially to the Gingko Photography blog!

You may or may not have already read the post about Rempah's launch party in St Leonard's a few weeks ago, posted to share the photograph's, present further examples of my event photography and photography for businesses and also to shout about a great new restaurant in my own community, or may have seen me on Instagram - @gingkophotography

I've always loved communicating, be it visually or in words and blogging comes naturally to me. I find it a great tool of expression and also a great way for me to get to know you better, as comments are always welcome. Read on for further examples of the sort of content that I will be posting on this blog!:

Documentary style photography & behind the scenes

If you're searching for a Sussex-based documentary style photographer for your wedding, business, event or personal-brand, I hope that along with the website, this blog will help you to understand more about what I do, how I work and what my style is. Particularly for weddings, I think it's very important to make sure that you're on the same page as any wedding supplier that you hire before investing in them. I hope that I can help make hiring a wedding photographer much easier, whether it's me or somebody else!

Photograph's of Hastings, St Leonard's and Sussex:

I'm very much a community-minded person and Gingko Photography has been consciously set up to get to know Hastings, St Leonard's and the rest of East Sussex more intimately as well as to do utilise my wide experience and skills in photographing people, places, weddings and events in a documentary style. I moved here in the summer of 2017 and there is still absolutely loads for me to explore, so, expect to see posts about the local area and community that I'm very happy to be part of.

Photography How-To's

I'm often sent messages via email and Instagram from younger photographers asking me I how I got into photography and how I've attracted and gained clients over the years. Having taught and lectured on photography in the past, I know that I really love sharing my experience with others. After all, I too was once a young photographer looking for a break.

Gardening & Nature Photography & Walks

An avid gardener and crazy plant lover, it's practically impossible for me to be in the garden or out in nature without stopping to photograph plants, trees and landscapes! Followers of my Instagram account for example, will already know that recently I went out to Alexandra Park in Hastings, East Sussex, to hunt down a Gingko Tree. As Gingko is the name of my business, I really wanted to connect with and photograph this beautiful and unusual tree and keep it very much as inspiration for the growth of Gingko Photography.

In my happy place :)
